Took last week off to spend with family visiting. Before I left I double checked with ALL staff... including my boss about handling new clients, etc.. everyone said they were good.. understood (yadayadayada).

Came back on Monday to about a ream of unresolved paper, regulatory issues.. 40 new projects to set up.

Vacation was ok, except my brother came down with pneumonia, so we missed out on some stuff (his insurance wasn't accepted by the urgent care clinic where we spent a good part of one day)... I'm going to have a tee shirt made for him, btw.. I went to DC and all I got was pneumonia... wonder if he'll think it's as funny as I do.

3 REALLY long days for me this week so far... and another REALLY, REALLY long one tomorrow (why can't people pay attention to an out of office message, anyway?).

I feel better..

Hang in there girl.........this to shall pass........deep breath..........kumbaya..........cling-cling.........ohmmmmmmmmm :v)

thanks fat... soon I'll be back to my normal hectic days... had a wildcard show up on my radar yesterday, today and tomorrow... historic stuff.

I wrote a thesis: for inspections, contact this person; for setting up a new project or account, contact this person; for admin support, contact this person.. I changed my voice mail message on my phone, and still had 15 voice mail messages..

(and I expect to be reprimanded for not training my staff.. which I guess includes my boss) for anything that slipped thru the cracks.

Peach you can only do what you can! I fine people can't follow directions. I have one manager that I have to explain things to 3 times and he still can't connect the dots.

Hang in and do the best you can.

Peach, never fails that you leave for a few days and everyone develops a case of amnesia. It happens to me every time I take even one day off. I hope that you enjoyed your holiday and that your brother is feeling better. Love the t-shirt idea....... ;)

peach -

I post the days I will be off at my office and city hall, change the message on my machine, and still come back to 'where were you?' from the contractors and happy homeowners. I have decided that you just can't win......... :)

oh, this week was as bad... earthquake... Irene staring us down... one inspector thinking he's going to actually see the Bristol race tomorrow night (and needed 2 days off for it)...

Sunny and pretty this morning... for the first time since Thursday. No real damage here.. see what DC is like tomorrow. We ended up with 7" of rain (if the tarp over my neighbors truck bed is an accurate measurement). Watching Jersey now and hoping my kid is safe.
