I'm in need of a door hardware for my office door. Recently we found that some files were missing even if we lock the door properly. So i've planned to install door hardware so that we'll get more security. One of my colleague suggested http://www.dooronthego.ca/door-repair/door-hardware/ to install the door hardware . Do anyone have any experience with this particular service? Else do you know any other trustworthy services? Any suggestions regarding this are greatly accepted. Thank you

I would suggest a bonded locksmith, if you are talking about one door.

Unless the Canada people on the site know about this company

.ca URLs are Canadian.

Tonia, the first thing I would recommend is double check everyone's desk. I've found some building permit files in some strange locations around the office.

Is the office you're referring to a single room in a suite (i.e. an archive room in your office) or is it the main office door?

I am wondering if they use sub contractors??

Since not an emergency suggest locksmith

Thank you all for your valuable suggestions. I'm referring to single room. I think I'll have to secure the main office door too. I've checked everyone's desk, but I was not able to find anything there. I don't have any idea on where they are disappearing. It's really frustrating to work with tension and stress:confused:

Interior demising walls are generally not required to be continuous to the floor or roof above unless they are fire separations, like those that would surround your offices and protect your office from adjacent suites (if there are any). This can be a problem in security in that sometimes interior demising walls are left open above the ceiling grid (tiles). This means that someone would only need to go up through the ceiling to get into the locked room. Better locks would not help in this scenario. Make sure this is the ONLY access to the room and then upgrade your locks.

Depending on the level of security you need and the existing construction, you could be looking at anything from a deadbolt to electronic controlled access. There are certain things to keep in mind that the Ontario Building Code requires. Generally, doors should be able to open with a single operation (like turning a door knob). Your best bet is to talk to a local hardware specialist on their recommendations and bring that to your local building official to confirm it meets code.
