Negative pressure clean room???

Not a code issue but something that doesn't make sense to me. I have guys going to wire an exhaust fan in an existing clean room at a lab today. Why create negative pressure in this environment? Anybody come across this before?

They may be supplying more air than they are exhausting to maintain positive pressure. If not - pre-scratched lenses!
