New electrical panels and natural gas regulators

Our natural gas purveyor requires 36” of separation between a regulator or meter, and any electrical apparatus that might produce a spark.

The 2006 Arkansas Fuel Gas Code, a modified version of the 2006 IFGC, states:

401.1.2 Meter Location accessible and acceptable. A meter location, when required, shall be provided for the building or premises to be served. The location shall be such that the meter and connections are accessible in order that the meter may be read or changed. Location, space requirements, dimensions and type of installation shall be acceptable to the gas company.
