NFPA 101 as a referenced standard in the Mass Building Code

This is related to a question I just posted. A colleague of mine insist that NFPA 101 is not referenced in the Mass Building Code. Chapter 35 of the IBC list NFPA 101 AND there is no Mass Ammendment exluding it. Am I missing something or is my colleague wrong?
 
Only to the extent referenced per Section 102.4; which means the entire NFPA 101 Life Safety Code is not a requirement--only the requirement to provide a a life safety study per the LSC for smoke-protected seating.
