Forget the NM, a box would have been nice too

Looks like typical home owner work. The sad part is that installation will likely last forever and never cause a problem if no one ever touches it. Not all code violations result in an instantaneous catastrophic failure.

I'd say most code violations never cause an instantaneous failure (like the #6 and smaller ECG being continuous green)... but it's in there.. and it's a violation
