I can't find anything in the IRC regarding interior nonbearing steel studs in walls.

The question: What is the minimum size and thickness?

Is there a minimum size and thickness for a wood stud non-bearing partition? like maybe strong enough and deep enough to allow the fasstener of the veneer / sheathing to anchor?
