This is a job that will tax my abilities....and I love it....wouldn't have it any other way....it's gonna turn out great if it kills them

The retaining wall on the left has a 12"x12" footing. They're having a hard time accepting the fact that it will not last because it is fully grouted with steel in every cell.

The CMU wall on the right was added and then came the dirt. It's up to the bottom of the window in the garage wall. Had I let them place concrete, the forms would have folded up like a cheap suit.

The waste pipe would end up day-lighted in the side of the footing. SSTB were used exclusively for perimeter anchors and none were placed for HD anchors. When I explained that SSTBs are a waste of money when a J-bolt would suffice, they explained that SSTBs must be better because they are so much longer. They are a cute pair of Asians so every other word is Sir and they bow a lot. That's so much different than being cussed out in Spanish.

These are J-bolts for partition walls.

The HO is a middle aged couple (traditional male & female) They are long on determination and short everything else. The work is so completely wrong that I told them to remove it all and start over. For one thing, the footings are 12" deep and because of added fill and proximity to retaining walls, the depth needs to be as much as 4.5 feet. There's another bunch of it that is not in the pictures.

Here the 12" deep footing is 3' from a 6' tall wall.

Ya I know that this is all in the wrong thread. And yes folks it's just another average day in the jungle.

Sometimes a 3D model would help at plan review!

and I don't mean a model from "Vicky Secret's!"
