I was inspired by a recent post on this forum to write the article for my monthly column about the code requirements pertaining to doors with access control - card readers, keypads, biometrics, etc. I've run into quite a few people who assumed that every door with an access control reader was subject to the code requirements for Access Controlled Egress Doors, but there are actually 7 different sets of code requirements that affect doors with access control. I'd appreciate it if any of you have time to take a look and give me any feedback, insight, etc.
