Anyone have any experience about "mixed occupancies" ? Our building are mix-use of offices, retails, and restaurants. I understand that we are in Group A - Assembly and Group B - Business.

What is the code strategy/applications for mixed occupancy building? and do we have to follow to all the codes in both groups?

I appreciate all your helps.

Mixed uses are handled, generally speaking, one of two ways. Look in Chapter 5 of the IBC.
For 'non-separated' mixed uses the more restrictive of the involved uses will dictate height and area of the building.
For 'separated' mixed uses there is a ratio method. This method usually allows a slightly larger area than the other.

Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? Expanding space, remodeling?
 
JBL summed it up well. My understanding is also that you may use different methods per story. In these cases , for example, you may use the separated method for one story and the non-separated or the Accessory method, for the next etc. In cases like these, the individual occupancy's must sill comply with the requirements for height found in 503 (CBC) and also comply with all the applicable sections of the code for that Occupancy. For example, if you have a building with multiple Storys, according to Table 503, an "E" occupancy would still be restricted to 2-storys (for say type IIB Construction). The areas per floor will be determined by ratio method (for separated) or most restrictive (for non-separated) or according to the main occupancy for the Accessory method.

Thats how I go about it. It does get a little complex...

"helps"? Well, we are here to "help" but then "it depends" on what you are trying to achieve.
The net you are casting is full of holes. What kind of fish are you trying to catch? Is this a legal issue? How many stories is your building, how old, type of construction, public or privately owned?
24' are you, first job or an intern?
