Meeting Minutes from Electrical Inspector's Meeting. What are your thoughts?

Open Discussion: Brought up were supports for wires over acoustical ceilings. The agreement was that all electrical
supports must be identified and used only for electrical use. We cannot support any electrical
wires/conduit with other trade supports. **** brought up the length of unfused incoming wires from the utility
inside a building before the main. Wires should be terminated with no more than 8’ in length or as close as
possible to their point of entry. **** commented on how important notes are on building plans. A contractor
had missed details about unfused wires needing concrete encasement, which led to revisions. **** also
commented about municipality jobs and the importance of following inspection protocol. ****
commented on GFI plug-in testers and an inspector's question about using them. GFI breakers and receptacles have
test buttons which is a standard test we have for proper operation. It should also be acceptable for inspection
purposes.

I don't care too much about identifying supports, but do call for them to be on their own supports....The "nearest the point of entrance" will never be solved until all of the service discos are on the outside which we are slowing getting to....
