Overhead service conductors

Re: Overhead service conductors

Looking at 230.24(A) exception #3. Question can one walk out on that system? So that last sentence in that exception states not more than 6' of conductors are permitted to pass over this roof......However, can one actually define this trellis as a roof?

Re: Overhead service conductors

I doubt that someone would be able to walk on that "roof" surface. The code doesn't specify it, but isn't that the intent, proximity to the conductors? I wouldn't have any heartburn on it. JMHO

Re: Overhead service conductors

If that was a "roof" then it would have to be a minimum Class C "roof" wouldn't it? (what if the lattice was wood?)
