In the 2010 CBC 1129B.3 item 3, accessible parking stalls had to be located so that a person with a disability would not be compelled to wheel or walk behind parking spaces other than their own.

However, in the 2013 CBC, I cannot find this requirement. Has it been deleted from the new code? Or am I just missing it?

2013 CBC11B-502.7.1 Arrangement. Parking spaces and access aisles shall be designed so that persons using them are not required to travel behind parking spaces other than to pass behind the parking space in which they parked.

2010 ADASAD Advisory 502.3 Access Aisle.

Where possible, it is preferable that the accessible route not pass behind parked vehicles.

HOUSING ACCESSIBILITY

CBC 2013 1109A.7 Location of accessible parking spaces.

5. Accessible parking spaces shall be located so that persons with disabilities are not compelled to wheel or walk behind parked cars other than their own.
