So getting lost on this, and not my specialty
2015 IBC and I codes
R-1 Hotel fully sprinkled
NO smoke control system
There is a vertical duct that comes to the floor.
There is a damper at the connection from this duct to the ducts running to the corridor and each room.
The duct penetrates from the corridor into each room, through the rated corridor wall, but no damper.
The other problem is all this duct work is connected in the corridor from room to room. So one possibility is fire/ smoke in one room, travels through this duct, into the corridor, and into all the other rooms, filling them with smoke and hot gases.
So what am I missing to make this legal???
Still trying to jump around chapter 7, and getting lost.
Plus kind of remember, a certain thickness duct, does not require a damper, but I do no think the room to room runs are legal.
thanks
