Roof over Roof design loads

I have a very large building that a roof over is being done on. The building has lightweight metal bar joist and metal deck. The roof company is adding a foam of about 6 inches and a rubber roof. I have seen two truck loads of foam and a tuck load of rubber roofing come in. Today a crane is stacking the rubber on the deck in several locations on the roof. I am concerned over imposed loads now and after completion. I know this is not a fire issue so I sent the BO to the site a few minutes ago. Any code requirement for imposed loading.

2006 IBC SECTION 1510

REROOFING

1510.2 Structural and construction loads.

Structural roof components shall be capable of supporting the roof-covering system and the material and equipment loads that will be encountered during installation of the system.

hlfireinspector,

Essentially, a structural engineer should have been called in prior to the placement of the new roofing components, to

evaluate the existing roof system. Section 104.4 in the IBC CAN require a thorough inspection by a competent

design professional "after the fact".

.

probably will find that the added weight isn't a problem, since I assume you don't have a big snow load, but a structural engineer should evaluate.
