I wrote a correction to install a roof to wall transition with step shingles and counter-flashing.

There's no fixing it now without replacing a bunch of shingles.

I ran into this one yesterday.

No kickout needed in the 3rd pic?
In my estimation, there should always be a diverter shingle whether there is a window or not. The window would have leaked no matter what because it has no flashing. Lacking any roof to wall transition, it came as no surprise that the windows were wrong.
