Training on the Significant Changes to the 2013 California Building Code jointly offered by the City of San Diego

and the San Diego Area Chapter of ICC to City of San Diego staff and members of the SD Area chapter as well

as members of the local design, construction and inspection community. The one day class is offered on two

consecutive days and is taught by professional trainers from ICC and is based on the soon to be adopted 2013

CBC. 0.6 Continuing Education Units are provided by ICC and AIA after completing the class.

Registration must be received by Noon October 25, 2013. Seating is

limited & priority given to City of SD and ICC chapter members.

The purpose of Significant Changes to the California Building Code 2013 Edition is to familiarize

building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and

others in the construction industry with many of the important changes in the 2013 California Building

Code (CBC).

Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be better able to:

- Identify the most significant differences between the 2010 CBC and the 2013 CBC.

- Explain the differences between the current and previous edition.

- Identify key changes in organization and code requirements.

- Identify the applicability of design, plan review and inspection requirements
