WASTE STACK VENT

910.2 Stack Installation: ...... Every fixture drain shall connect separately to the waste stack. The stack shall not receive the discharge of water closets or urinals.

I just removed a cast iron soil stack in my house that was serving as both waste and ultimately vented out the roof. I'm going to replace with PVC. There was a separate galvanized vent pipe that connected at the base of the soil stack right where the horizontal building drain started (per 903.4) and connected to the soil stack again at a level above the bathroom fixtures to vent the bathroom fixtures. (Ranch house, one bath). Which means the water closet connected directly to the stack. Can I redo that same configuration under the above code?
