Hello,

We have a large warehouse project where solar wall heating system is being installed, a Glazed Transpired Solar-Thermal wall system.

Upon activation of area smoke detector or duct smoke detector, should the fan serving this solar wall be shutdown?

I've read through NFPA 90A and 72 but all I can gather is that it the duct detector should shut down its respective fan. I'd treat it as any air supplying system and common sense tells me it should be shutdown if any of the smoke detectors trips. Your thoughts?

Thank you in advance,

Hoons

What do you think should be shut down??? and why???

Where are these fans located inside or out?

AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. Any system of ducts, plenums and air-handling equipment that circulates air within a space or spaces and includes systems made up of one or more air-handling units.

606.1 Controls required.

Air distribution systems shall be equipped with smoke detectors listed and labeled for installation in air distribution systems, as required by this section.

Is there an air distribution system connected to the fan?
