Sprinklers in Breezeway

Hello all,

Currently working on a residential project that will have a covered breezeway connecting the garage and main residence. The breezeway is covered by a connecting roofline, however is open on both sides.

Are sprinklers required per NFPA 13/13D? Code section references would be welcome.
