Have a non-habitable hobby space in a tower, does stair have to comply with residential code? I know ship ladders are allowed for non-habitable spaces

stair to non-habitable space

What makes the hobby space non-habitable? Sounds like a workshop or office to me..

Do a search on stairs, we have beat this to death a few times.

Hemingway had a tower room in Cuba with a very nonconforming exterior stair to it, very unsafe.
