Storeroom set with deadbolt

Given a storeroom lever set with a deadbolt accessible from a corridor at a junior college

? The DB requires a key , keys are not typically accessible, so can it be approved given that access to the storeroom is limited to district maintenance staff (similar to the exception for mechanical rooms). You can exit the room from the interior as the lever would release the DB if someone inadvertantly or purposely locked it while you were in it.

Yep....everyone is deprived of a key equally....When you hire a person that needs an "accessible key" you make a reasonable accommodation at that time...

Keys aren't necessarily non-accessible. Adapters are readily available to let people use them without twisting their wrist.

11B-309.4 Operation. Operable parts shall be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist. The force required to activate operable parts shall be 5 pounds (22.2 N) maximum."

Note that for scoping purposes, keys themselves are neither "locks" nor "parts on doors". And deadbolts (which are "parts on doors") can be operated with one hand by inserting a key, and any key can be adapted with an extra large "handle" on its back end so that tight grasping is not necessary:
