The guy that owns a liqueur store near my office is a worry wart. If it's not one thing it's another. Recently it was burglars. He'd read about some gangsters that gained entry by cutting through a roof. They waited for the proprietor to show up for work; then emptied the safe and killed him. So he strung concertina wire all around his roof.

The fire dept. saw it and made him remove it. He wanted me to intervene and get the FD to say OK. He tells me that if I don't, one day it will happen to him and his wife will sue the government because we made him vulnerable. He said "I will be dead and my young, beautiful wife will be rich". I didn't want to give him false hope as I pulled out a business card so I said "You, I can't help"......... and followed up with........ "Give this to your wife".
