Structural Connections through UL Rated Assemblies?

The contractor on a project in our office has built an exterior UL rated wall assembly (UL U356) neglecting our proper connection detail (for a balcony wing wall). He is asking now to add a ledger board to the inboard side and screw through the UL assembly to make the structural connection. Is a penetration / connection such as this permitted through a UL assembly after the fact?

Thanks

ETThompson1,

Also, ...Welcome to The Building Codes Forum !

Regarding your OP, ...whomever is the designer of the particular
UL assembly in question, will need to be contacted for their
input........UL can not grant approval as they are a testing organization.

QUESTIONS: What type of fasteners, ...what length, ...how many,
...what is the spacing, and on and on and on and on.....Also, "IF"

allowed, some of the fire rated caulking companies may be able to
provide some design assistance [ Hilti, 3M, others ].

All kinds of penetrations are allowed in all kinds of assemblies, I am afraid you will have to be more specific....Is construction type the only reason the wall is rated?
