On a trapeze type support where should the insulation be ? If it's between the trapeze (uni-strut ) and the duct it is compressed, if the insulation wraps the around the trapeze the uni-strut sticks out past the insulation. Bar joist are 4'oc the duct is 28" so this leaves 10" of uni-strut outside of duct thats not wrapped.

ron - Welcome to the Board. Why are you worried about insulating the supports? The duct is what requires insulation. Is this for flex duct or rigid? Occupancy? Construction Class? Code and Year?

This is large duct 22 guage in a corridor (commericial). The contractor wrapped the duct and uni-strut (support) together I'm concerned the 10" on each end (uni-strut) sticking out will condensate. He ask how are you to support the duct without compressing the insulation if he places the insulation between the uni-strut and duct.
