480 3ph temp service for new school project...POCO requires "cold start" disco before meter to protect their personel......which then becomes the service disco and OCPD IMO....

EC says the POCO will not let them bring the GEC to the grounded service conductor at this disco.....

Greetings,

Have heard of that before. No problem with a disconnect in front of the meter on 480. That's common Why don't they just use a meter with a disconnect built in and it would solve the issue and have your private side service disconnect on the load side of the meter? I wouldn't allow it as shown without GEC run to disconnect. There's no bonding jumper either.

I think they have several issues there from 230.82 to 225.31, 250.24, 250.32.......Just bothers me that this is how I am starting off with an EC on a $60 mil school.....

steveray,IMO, ...installs like this, and in the other trades are the norm, ...they

seem to be here anyway!........Only a very few contractors actually

install things to code, even when the plans & contracts call for it.

Thanks for the pics.!
