Texas Accessibility Standards

i've got a question about texas accessibilty inspections. i work for a small bldg dept in texas (20k+- people in city), sorta new here (6 months) we don't do accessability inspections, "because the state does them", any body in texas want to chime in on this ? seems odd to me, but then again, maybe not.......

Mark,

I was looking at the Texas Accessibility Standards web site link that you provided.

It’s interesting to see a few things there that are in conflict to the 2010 ADA and the ANSI A117.1-2003:

Horizontal grab bars for water closets are indicated at 36” AFF to the center. ADA and ANSI are 36” max to the top.

For lockers, an unobstructed side reach is at 54” AFF, ADA and ANSI are at 48”

For benches, there is no requirement for clear floor space at the end of the bench. ADA and ANSI require it
