Good morning to all,

Does anyone know what is up with Texas accessibility code?

Are they doing an update to follow the ADA standards or are they still following the more strict requirements?

Thanks Tom

I subscribe to the Texas Society of Architects and received this article recently. I don't know if it helps but it gives a little information about the new requirements for 2012.

Mark,

Thanks but I had that link, I am trying to find out if they or are they in the process of updating to be more inline with the 2010 standard?

I have never worked with the Texas Accessibility Code. Do they require parking spaces for hitching up your horse?

I am a Texas RAS.

They are still under the 1994 TAS and still reviewing the revisions for consideration.

I would not expect anything until 2012 at the earliest.

Yep, dual height requirements for the hitching rail and dual height requirements for the pegs to hang your guns and hats on! :P

Plus a ramp up to saddle height.

In the link by Mule, they noted: "In his report to the committee, Mr. Posey suggested that TDLR would allow, through the variance process, the use of the 2010 SAD prior to the planned implementation in 2012. " This was from Nov. 2012. Was his suggestion ever given any official sanction?
