IBC 2009, Wisconsin
Back when Wisconsin had it's own code, they had a section that stated the walls and ceilings of every toilet room shall be completed covered with smooth, non-absorbent material. So I just continued with that philosophy. I used gypsum bd or a vinyl covered gypsum ceiling tile. I have a client that wants to use standard ceiling, but I cannot find anywhere in the current IBC codes that state if the ceiling in a toilet room needs to be smooth or non-absorbent material.
Am I missing it or is there nothing in regards to the ceiling? That have requirements for walls and floors (IBC 1210), but thats it. I have even looked in the Inter. Plumbing Code, but that relates you back to the IBC.
Thanks in advance.
