I recently started teaching a design class and one of the students asked how to calculate the OL of a Training Room (the floor plan had a 1,290 SF training room space in an office building (B)) In my practice I typically calculate training rooms as classrooms as the tables are pretty fixed (usually because of equipment ie. computers, etc) and someone is learning something. If it is a multi-function room, which happens to be used as a training room among other uses, I do calculate as unconcentrated tables and chairs.
But, is this the consensus or do you draw the lines differently.
I'm trying to explain it in a more black and white scenario (to the students) -especially because sometime they'll just see 'training room' without any other indication of how it's used.
What do y'all think?
