Two Story Atriums

Section 404 Atriums of the IBC states that the enclosure of an atrium must be separated by 1-hour fire barrier. I am designing a two story Career Tech and High School that is intended to be open floor to floor. In researching other similar projects I find where there are interiors much like that of an interior two story mall with storefront glass separating adjacent spaces bordering the open atrium. I have found other post that say two story atriums do not have to be separated by 1-hour fire rated construction as long as the distance of travel does not exceed 200 feet. But they do not cite where that is in the code. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I see it now but when you read 712.1.7 Atriums and go to Section 404 it talks about the 1-hour separation. They seem to be in conflict. If 404 said "three or more stories" it would make sense but it says "two or more". Thanks
