I have a church that says the most intense use their kitchen will have is to prepare a pancake and egg breakfast for approx. 100 people every Sunday morning. The occupant load for the church is over 300 but they say 100 meals.

Should this be provided a type I hood or a type II.

Whenever I make pancakes & eggs, they are fried in a little butter or oil, and at my church they usually come with bacon or sausage. That much every week, type I.

507.2.1 Type I hoods. Type I hoods shall be installed where

cooking appliances produce grease or smoke. Type I hoods

shall be installed over medium-duty, heavy-duty and

extra-heavy-duty cooking appliances. Type I hoods shall be

installed over light-duty cooking appliances that produce

grease or smoke.

Type I

I agree, ...Type I!....In my experience, a large per centage of churches will

cook & serve a variety of food products, not just the "pancakes and eggs".

Unfortunately, I have been lied to too many times by churches stating one

thing, and after the C. of O. is issued, they start cooking & serving

everything in sight......Your experience may be different!

"Your experience may be different!"

Probably not, happens here.

Kinda like they will NEVER have over 50 people in attendence........

I agree, Type I hood. Too much temptation (no pun intended) for the church if only required to have a Type II.

Thanks for this article. Its really a good topic. I like this side. Give me some information about this side.
