Ungrounded system

Ungrounded residential. Just inside the wall, there is a receptacle. This ground rod serves that receptacle and only that receptacle. The owner has a big screen TV plugged into that receptacle. The owner wanted to play it safe and not risk frying the big screen and he thought a ground rod was the ticket.

Ya I've got to give him credit for thinking. As far as the depth goes, it's probably deep enough that a lightning strike in the neighborhood will fry his big screen.

Assume 10 ft rod two feet above, 8 ft into the ground ?...

Assume 7 ft rod two feet above, 5 ft into the ground ?...
