Walk-in beer cave cooler Q.

Is there a maximum square footage size for a walk-in "beer cave" cooler can be in an non-sprinklered building? This cooler allows for the patron to enter the cooler, do a walkabout and exit with his/hers product.

Does IBC 2021, Section 2603.4.1.3, limit the cooler size to 400sf in a non-sprinklered building?

2603.4.1.3 is a sub-sub-subparagraph under 2603.4.

2604.3 establishes that walk-in coolers using foam plastic insulation require a fire barrier covering the insulation. 2603.4.1.3 is one of the conditions under which the fire barrier is not required. If your cooler has a fire-resistant barrier covering the foam plastic insulation, you are not limited to 400 square feet.

The building use, construction type, size and commodity govern fires sprinklers, excess foam plastics my require sprinkler outside of the exception listed above

Soooo... if the coolers where covered with let's say a 1-hr wrap (5/8 Type-x) would that suffice for allowing additional square footage and still not require a sprinkler system?

I was approached with another over sized cooler project. You're not seeing this walk-in beer cave in your area?

Key word is "aggregate", the combination of cooler(s) square footage if over 400sq would require sprinkler system protection or other designed protection?

The architect said he never heard about a code limiting the square footage of coolers. Does anyone have any ideas regarding protection that would allow protection of the coolers?
