I am wounding if anybody has ever had a WSPS fail the CSI report for not having a RPZ installed on a Steam Table, Water Softener or a Ice Maker Filters?

The main water supply is protected by a RPZ and the soda dispenser is protected by a stainless RPZ. However the CSI inspector failed this new restaurant I just finaled because the above mentioned appliances did not have there own individual back-flow protection.

I contacted TCEQ and have a written response from the Technical Review and Oversight Team stating that the additional 3 devices should not be required.

Just curious if anyone has run in to this before...... Thanks for any input.

Kevin,

We would not have required the additional devices for the CSI. We have our own CSI inspectors in house so rarely have a disagreement on what is required.

Your call was right as far as I am concerned, the CSI inspector was wrong and it appears that TCEQ is backing you up. Go for it.
