A truck stop wants to add LNG fueling. Two 15-18 thousand gallon LNG tanks 40 ft high with two LNG dispensere, and two dispensers planned for future use. Future development will also include CNG equipment and dispensing. 2009 IFC is used. What code sections do I use for plan review? 2207, 2208, or something else?

Or do I use 102.8 and reference NFPA 52 and 30A?

Do I permit them with Hazardous Material, Cryogenics?

looks like 2208 and if needed 104.7.2

might look into some NFPA for guidance also maybe 30a and 59a

cng 2208 chapter 30 international fuel gas code nfpa72

lng chapter 35 nfpa 55,57,59a

Nothing yet, LNG company is doing fesiblity study. They want a network with Pilot centers throughout the US. From what I know most places that have it run a clean operation with little or no problems. We do not have anything in our zoning ordinances to regulate this and I am concerned about the proximatey to residential - hotel at the proposed site.

It's a mix of IFC Chapter 22, NFPA 55, and NFPA 57 based on a seminar I took in Arlington, TX from some guy named Stuckey. I also learned that it involves the IBC and the designer I am dealing with is fighting the fire protection issues. We have a truck stop in Katy, TX that wants one of these LNG plants.

Hey oldfieldguy, do you have any zoning requirements for where LNG storage tanks can be in your area?
