DRP got it. This portion of the attic does not have flooring on top of the joists. (Customer is cheap). Without flooring there is no resistance to keep the LVL's from separating. The TGI's are serving as rafter ties and thus would need tension straps to resist the out thrust on the walls. I see this get missed some in my area so I thought I would bring it up.
