Why is the pool so high?

Probably against the AC manufactures instructions of required space around it.

They'll be replacing it soon anyway when the compressor goes out to high head pressure and lack of service....
I don't work for Jeff so I could let it go. Would I?... not sure about that as I didn't get much closer than 20'. Worst case, the tech is sitting.
The pool is raised because it's a plastic liner pool. There is usually a wood framed perimeter to provide a stable support for the liner.
