... be like this forum? Though we're all over the US, everyone does their best to help each other, (mostly) without sniping or flaming, or threatening lawsuits.

Thank you, everyone here, for working towards a greater understanding of the codes and their interpretation!

(Thanks for getting this off of MY chest!)

There are many forums which operate similarly - the key is that they attract and keep experts within a specific knowledge domain and the knowledge domain is such that it regularly attracts new participants and lurkers (churn)...e.g. this board has a potential for churning in a new member everytime someone goes to pull a permit.

I have noticed on some forums that there are ongoing 'flame wars' to no one's real benefit. I don't go to those forums.

Thanks everyone for being able to disagree and be civil about it. This is a great forum to be on!

I agree... this is the best...

We can agree to disagree; if I have learned nothing else, I've learned that even well qualified code geeks don't always agree on what (some of us) think are really clearly specified in the code... I enjoy learning... even when I don't agree

When it comes to life safety, I for one welcome the contrary opinions, provided we do not cast aspersions on each other's motivations. It sharpens my thinking. As my former colleague used to say, "I reserve the right to be smarter in the future than I am today."

How many forums you know of that has 41 topics and counting; plus at least 3 more for supporters. This forum even gives a place to blog! The most important feature that separates this "professional" forum from the rest is that it's welcome to everyone for free.

Thank you.

I have to say that along with the DataCAD forum, this is the only other forum that I really look forward to reading and responding to. I think it really says alot about the forum members here (and JAR's incredible work in putting it together!).

Thank you, everyone, for making this a really great place to discuss, learn and have a little fun while we're at it!
