Hi, quick question, in Hurricane-prone regions (e.g., Puerto Rico), if an exterior window has to be fully replaced with a new one, does that new window need to comply with the impact-resistant requirement under ASTM standard?

I would check with the (AHJ) Authority Having Juridiction for your area.

You can search: 2018 IRC Figure R301.2 (5) A & B for wind design.

Remember code is a minimal requirement.
