[h=1]4 people injured in Cecil County deck collapse[/h] [h=2]Cause of collapse not yet known[/h] UPDATED 10:33 PM EST Dec 25, 2015

ELKTON, Md. - Four people were injured in a deck collapse at a Cecil County home, officials said.

The deck on the second-story of a home in the 100 block of East Village Road in Elkton collapsed around 1:30 p.m. Friday during a family gathering, officials said.

“We thought it was fighting or something,” neighbor Jaion Braywood said.

“I pulled off the screen to my window and peeked out and it was just pure disaster.”

Officials said four people –- a woman in her 50s with lower-leg trauma, and three people in their 20s –- were taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The deck was not overloaded at the time, officials said. It is unclear what caused the deck to give way.
