Not where I really want to be
I am starting to get a bit more adventurous and thinking about a Youtube channel and separate Podcast specific to building codes for the Building Code Forum. I am not sure what you thoughts are but for the Podcast I may want to interview some of you and discuss code issues, experiences, etc depending on the subject matter. I am still trying to figure out how a Youtube channel would best work to help bring code issues to the masses and at the same time use the exposure to grow this forum.

Looking for thoughts and input.

I’m a fan of both so here’s my first thoughts.

YouTube is great and will require a ton of visuals such as in the field examples. If you’ve ever watched some of the existing inspection videos they are a bit vanilla/monotone.

Podcast, needs character to make it work. Def needs great conversation/discussion and consistency.

Glenn would be great and of course you could cross promote....I'd be interested, let me know if you have specific needs...Most of my "online time" is here, so I don't have a lot of guidance....

I will be reaching out to Glenn and see if he wants to provide sneak peeks into his classes with short 5-7 minute cut up videos then link directly to his website.

Excellent reference for our content
Here's some examples from her channel:

Note her extensive use of graphics, pop culture references, etc. in this otherwise technical explanation of the differences in rigid insulation types:

Here's one where she critiques popular assumptions about use of shipping containers as a solution to affordable housing. This one went viral:

Here's a review of options for converting underutilized retail space into housing:

So, some of the attraction to her channel is:
Great editing and high production quality
Picking topics that give voices to questions that people are just starting to consider
Being somewhat contrarian to conventional or shallow thinking
Keeping most videos under 10 minutes

Another channel you might want to check out is 30x40. He's an architect that takes people through the design process, more of a narrative form.

Just saw this. Happy to talk anytime.
