For the purposes of determining area limitations, height limitations and type of construction, each portion of a building separated by one or more fire walls complying with Section 706 shall be considered to be a separate building.

Does this mean that adding a firewall in type V construction, A2 occupancy between 2 attached buildings, each building can be 6,000 ft2 or less and still be in compliance ??

Just make sure that it is actually a fire wall.

Fire walls must be built per Section 706, and that includes being structurally independent.

You are missing that an A2 with 100 or more occupant load triggers the the sprinklers long before the square footage does as mentioned in your other post.

Just want to clarify that you are talking about an actual wall that meets the definition of Fire Wall.
