New. The dark lines are railings in an open air park. Level surface.Hard to answer without knowing if this is an existing building or new, what code you are using, and what is the required width if this is a means of egress. Should be ok for an accessible route unless this is a ramp or stairway.
Sorry, i disagree. The depth of the turn is clearly only 48” so the exception does not apply. However i don't see anything that would make the pilaster a factor in the 42” approach dimension. It appears to me that the functional depth at the turn, before you encounter that pilaster, is 48+18 = 66". So I would say it functionally complies.
Thank you! Very helpful.ADAS 403.5.2 requires 3 dimensions and offer one exception.
1. 42" min approaching the turn
2. 48" min at the turn*
3. 42" leaving the turn
*Exception: when there is 60" at the turn, compliance with 403.5.2 [the 42" dimensions] is not required.

There may be some who might say the center obstruction midway through the turn narrows down the depth at the turn to 48", not 60", but it is clearly in an area that it out of the way of the inner radius of the wheelchair turn. If they were going to be sticklers for following the exact wording of "clear width at the turn of 60 inches", then they should also strictly apply the words "42" minimum leaving the turn" and recognize that the pillar occurs 18" after you've left the turn.

My intention of referencing the 60" was merely to show that the turn will likely also work in practical (functional) terms.Sorry, i disagree. It depends on the IBC code requirements. Your handrails will be dictating the amount you can protrude into the accessible route. Is this a stairway or ramp with switch back? Is it an exit way?Opinions please on if a pilaster located near an 180 degree turn as shown below would render the turn non-compliant. I believe it does. Thanks!
