Doesn't.that depend on length of flex?No EGC? 250.something
No it does not when you exceed 20ADoesn't.that depend on length of flex?
Are you sure its not in 348 something? No EGC? 250.something
If you are talking 348.60 which sends you to 250.118.....Sure....Are you sure its not in 348 something?
Looks like we have a complete answerIf you are talking 348.60 which sends you to 250.118.....Sure....
Enough prompting and even a non-electrician will get to a complete answer at some point...Looks like we have a complete answer
Stickler? Yes, for sure. Don't look for things you can't see. That is never the point. That is like me taking a picture of a window and asking a question about the roof that is not in the picture. Makes no sense. To be a stickler, the camera angle provided does not prove conclusively that there is no EGC.
My wife …. That is like me taking a picture of a window and asking a question about the roof that is not in the picture. Makes no sense.
As a test question, sure. But in real life, I would expect you often need to see something just outside what the picture shows.Don't look for things you can't see. That is never the point.
As the wiring method is new, Shirley it doesn't matter....What year was the original range circuit installed?
Not sure, the condo is on its 3rd or 4th remodel. What year was the original range circuit installed?
Prudence requires that the date be ascertained to determine if the neutral was possibly used as an equipment ground. As the wiring method is new, Shirley it doesn't matter....
Not relevant. They moved the location of the range, and installed new conduit for the extension and a new JB. They could have continued with EMT but were lazy so now they need to pull an EGC.Prudence requires that the date be ascertained to determine if the neutral was possibly used as an equipment ground.
No. This isn't about a neutral. This is about a metal box and raceway equipment grounding. We are past the service disconnect so the grounded conductor and EGC must be separated. If the neutral was a legal EGC for the range …. Would a jumper between boxes and continued use of the neutral as an EGC for the range be legal?
But it wasn't, as the range circuit was run in EMT, so an EGC was present (the EMT), and so NEC 250.140 Exception does not apply. If the neutral was a legal EGC for the range ….
Yeah...but me being a jerk, I would ASSUME that the raceway was used and therefore make them maintain it...Prudence requires that the date be ascertained to determine if the neutral was possibly used as an equipment ground.
Those wire type EGCs, one loose wirenut and whadaya got?One loose fitting and whadaya got?
