ICF Construction In Northern Climates

Does anyone know the long-term energy efficiency capabilities or downfalls of an ICF-built home in a northern climate subject to freezing temperatures? I've only inspected 3 homes when I was in Pennsylvania that were ICF construction, but I don't know how these types of homes do in the long run.
