I’m good with the U419, but the supporting construction would need to be 2 hours…. And any other egress width complications….And the 2 hour joint between that and the concrete…
They could put a lid in in theory....And the landing above (ceiling).
I'll go out on a limb and call it a fish tank.....Alternative means and methods, the water will put the fire out and no restoration of rating required.....Lets grab a beer....Interesting, another nugget worth the price of admission, I only considered the width implications, not the ratings.
Is the old wall behind opened to access the equipment and what was the proposed equipment?
There is no proposed equipment. The Fire Department discovered a fish tank coming through the wall that was put in without permits. They want to keep the fish tank. We are saying no way.Is the old wall behind opened to access the equipment and what was the proposed equipment?
You don't require a permit for something that alters a rated, required means of egress? Check your IEBC 105.2.It is not structural so we don't need a permit
He was being facetious. You don't require a permit for something that alters a rated, required means of egress? Check your IEBC 105.2.
