    Continual harassment of CEO

What are our paths we can take legally when we have a homeowner who continually harasses and verbally abuses the Code Enforcement Officer?

    Placard of Condemnation

So far..... We did Placard the house. I have written the notice of Condemnation but we still need to serve it. Our social worker is working on getting him a place to stay. More pictures have come in and its worse than I thought before. The home had also been flooded up to about 2 feet on...

    Placard of Condemnation

I could use a little help on this one. I have a home that is occupied but has the water turned off. Fire was called for a distressed person. They entered and found hoarding throughout. The place has ceiling drywall missing. Its moist inside and what appears to be black mold on every surface...

Local AHJ Pool Barrier - Pool Code DYI Flyer

Nope. Hasn't happened yet. The new village I work for actually will not allow a metal fence for a pool barrier either.

Local AHJ Pool Barrier - Pool Code DYI Flyer

I don't think I ever had to worry about this since we require that all fences, not just pool barriers, have the nice side facing out (towards their neighbor). So the horizontal member is always on the pool side.

    Plan Review Times

WOW. I thought we were slow when we hit 3-4 weeks and that was more due to outsourcing (third party) since we lost our electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspectors. Otherwise, in house we never would have gone over 3 weeks. I have sent out to third party reviews a total of 120 permits this...

    Permit for Shed after 18yrs!

I'm pretty serious about that. You/we, as a city, cannot wait around for 18 years, do nothing and then one day ask for a permit, plans and calculations. If this goes to court, the city would most likely lose if the owner lawyers up. JMHO Its an 18 year old shed, nothing to see here folks...

Pennsylvania Continues to Blindly Make Rules without Context

I just read the Illinois Architects requirements and don't see anything that states this seal must be wet, just reproducible.

If zoning doesn't address it , how close can a pool be placed to the main structure?

Five feet if windows are on that exterior wall or unless they want to temper them.
