    2003 nys Code interpretation

The Plumbing Code has been consistent in allowing one unisex rest room in assembly spaces under OL of 15. So somebody made a mistake ages ago, and approved a CO mistakenly? As Stevey Ray writes, the old CO is all the owenr needs to say "everything is OK here". I would let that sleeping dog...

Electrical Panel inset between studs of garage

While we're on the topic, here's a serious real question - Two electrical outlet boxes are installed facing opposing sides of the separation wall, in the same stud bay. Violation?

Electrical Panel inset between studs of garage

Sorry, no suggestion here - it's a penetration of a rated separation (in NY) and not permitted unless the rating can be maintained in some fashion.

Concentrated loads and inadequate bracing are likely factors. It happens. Sometimes people are hurt more severely.

    Is an egress door required?

New York has determined they are U occupancies. I don't see any requirement for "U" occupancy exiting in Ch.10. Maybe I'm missing it?

Does a Giant steel beam in garage need sheetrock?

"Where the separation is a floor-ceiling assembly, the structure supportiing the structure supporting the separation shall also be protected by not less than..." Seems clear to me - and it includes the exterior walls supporting the separation that are not part of a required separation. I...

    Use Group Question

Def not an "M" - no sales being conducted. I'd be inclined to a "B" occupancy, if the operators also do intake interviews to qualify recipients and other administrative functions. Each "B" may include a 100sq. ft. unseparated storeroom.

No Uncle Bob, you do not have quite all of the crazies yet - I have a few to send you. I have not seen a residential pot filler yet, but when I do, it will be accompanied by a drain . It doesn't sound safe to me. I can picture a rangetop full of cooking food items and somebody accidentally...

    Brewpub doesn't fit... Solution?

Just back from talking to the operators. Prior to the brewery being established a year ago, a Special Use Permit was approved by the Planning Board for the current location. Another SUP will be needed for the new location, which shouldn't be a hardship. The food will be 'finger food' and...
