    Temp Service and Two Ground Rods - What is Required?

    NEC 250.53 Covers the necessity for a supplemental ground rod or in reality a supplemental grounding electrode. What if the POCO only shows one on their detail for a temp service? Do you follow the minimum standards of the NEC or do you only require what is shown on the electric utility's diagram?

    As you can see by this photograph, the grounding electrode conductor (GEC) for this service comes into the top of the panel on the meter-base side and connects to a lug that is mechanically connected to a factory installed strip of metal that then connects the ground lug where the service...

    When a wire is too large for the lug and you find this.......

    I don't remember if this was a GEC or EGC, but, either way my question to you is: Is this a violation? If so, what code section would you cite?
